NANTICOKE EMPLOYEES DONATE TO AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION
As a part of their commitment to the community, employees of Nanticoke Health Services support the American Heart Association (AHA) in its fight again heart disease. As a part of the Nanticoke 2013 AHA Heart Walk Team fundraisers, a Longaberger Basket Bingo was held on Thursday, February 28th. The included a basket bingo, silent auction and lots of fun and education. Lori Lee, Senior Director of Nursing/ICU and Nanticoke’s AHA Walk Team Chair along with Steven Rose, President/CEO for Nanticoke Health Services presented Daniel Green, Delaware Heart Walk Director for the AHA.
“It’s great to have such a wonderful team at Nanticoke, not just supporting our patients but supporting our community. We had many employees who volunteered their time on this project and 16 departments donating themed baskets to the event,” said Ms. Lee. “I’m blessed to work with such a wonderful group of caring people.” In total the basket bingo this year raised nearly $4,500. In 2012, Nanticoke’s team raised more than $10,000 from fundraising events and individual employee efforts and was the top fundraising team for the Sussex County Heart Walk for the second year in a row.
