March 28, 2013

Bryan’s Bowling Center will present its first Semi-Annual Bowling and Cornhole Tournament Saturday, April 6, at 1103 S. Central Ave. in Laurel. Fifty percent of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.

The event will kick off at 10 a.m. with the first bowling squad. Bowling will be a trio tournament with United States Bowling Congress rules and 90 percent of 230 handicap. The bowling squads will start at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. The cost for a bowling team to enter is $75 ($25 per person). The winning team will receive $1,000.

The Cornhole Tournament will begin at noon, and the cost to enter is $50 per team, $25 per person. The tournament will use American Cornhole Association rules, and the winning team will receive $1,000. The Car, Truck & Racecar Show will also begin at noon in the front parking lot.

The cost to enter is $5 per car. The event will also include 50/50 raffles, full bar and snack bar. No alcohol will be allowed outdoors. The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition will be on-site with an information table.

For event organizer Cody Belote, the purpose of the event is to bring local people together and raise some money for a good cause. “For me, it’s personal because my grandmother is a breast cancer survivor,” said Belote. “But really, we just want to be able to help some people out and give back to the community.”

Registration forms are available at Bryan’s Bowling Center and at www.bryansbowlingcenter.com. Bryan’s Bowling Center can be reached at 302-875-7400. Walk-ins are welcome.
