Photo Beach Bash big success for amateurs and professionals

March 28, 2013

The 2013 Photo Beach Bash held March 13 and sponsored by the Coastal Camera Club offered a full day of activities - photo exhibition, photo critique, flea market, live model shoot, presentations by four top professional photographers, and the presence of B&H, one of the country's top vendors of photographic equipment - all for $5. The large number of people who arrived for the morning exhibitions were treated to an added and impromptu presentation by CCC.

Members of the camera club started enjoying the Photo Beach Bash early when they joined keynote speaker Rick Sammons for dinner the night before the event.

A number of extremely talented amateur photographers from the Coastal Camera Club exhibited their award-winning photographs. Concurrently, four professional photographers provided critiques on photos submitted by attendees, suggesting ways of improving the shots.  For those in need of some photo gear at bargain prices, club members offered personal gear for sale at the flea market. Experts from B&H Photo were on hand with the latest equipment and answers to photographers' questions.

Kevin Fleming, Tony Pratt, Ed Heaton and keynote speaker Sammon, a Canon Explorer of Light photographer, showed some of their best works and revealed the techniques they used to make the shot. Beginners and seasoned pros alike had a unique opportunity to learn from the presenters who shared their expertise and answered questions freely.
