Erickson wins Lewes’ 2012 Elaine Bisbee Award

March 29, 2013

Alice Erickson, City of Lewes administrative assistant, is recipient of the 2012 Elaine M. Bisbee Service Award.

“At the 11th hour, Alice always has my back,” Lewes Mayor Jim Ford said before bestowing the award and giving Erickson an accompanying $500 check at Mayor and City Council’s March 18 meeting.

Established in 2006, the Bisbee award recognizes and rewards an outstanding and dedicated city employee.

Erickson, 55, is a Milford resident and has been a city employee for nine years.

“I look forward to coming to work because it’s a pleasant environment,” she said, adding that she’s appreciative of Mayor and City Council’s role in ensuring continued city worker employment.

Erickson has worked with three city managers, the first being Elaine Bisbee who hired her and for whom the award is named.

Bisbee worked 35 years for the city, starting as a secretary and retiring in 2006 after 22 years as city manager. She set the standard for employee dedication and quality job performance.
