DelDOT to hold DART workshop March 28
Delaware Department of Transportation will hold a public workshop, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, March 28, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center to discuss changes to the DART service for the upcoming year. Under DelDOT’s proposal, the parking fee at the Rehoboth Park & Ride would change from $7 per vehicle to $8 per vehicle.
There will be a limit of four passengers per vehicle receiving a free daily pass and discounted employee parking would change from $3 per vehicle to $4 per vehicle. Routes 201-208 will still operate seven days a week starting Thursday, May 23 through Sunday, Sept. 15, although Route 206 would have some minor time changes on weekends and holidays.
Finally, the department is proposing the Route 305 beach connection bus from Wilmington to Rehoboth – which runs one trip on Fridays, three trips on Saturday and two on Sunday – would have a slight time change for the first trip leaving Rehoboth on Sundays and holidays. Instead of 10:45 a.m., the bus would leave at 11:02 a.m. to better connect with Route 208.
The department’s proposals are available at most libraries, state service centers, at DART offices and DelDOT’s administration office in Dover. The proposals can also be seen online at www.DartFirstState.com.
Besides in person, comments can be submitted by mail to DART First State Public Hearing, P.O. Box 1670, Wilmington, DE 19899. Comments can also be emailed through DART’s website, www.DartFirstState.com publichearing. All comments must be received by Wednesday, April 3.
