Patricia E. Kirby, Acme Markets retiree

Patricia E. Kirby, 70, of Georgetown, completed her work here on earth and went to her eternal home Sunday, March 24, 2013.

 

She was born to D. Roscoe and Mary Hudson Fisher Aug. 6, 1942. She was a 1960 graduate of Millsboro High School. In 1961, she married her one and only true love, Lloyd (Jay) Kirby.

 

In 1968, she joined Acme Markets in Millsboro where she worked for over 25 years. She enjoyed her work and the people of the community who she met through her job as a checker, customer service representative, office girl and traveling computer instructor.

 

She is left behind by her husband, Jay; and their children, Treasa Lednum and her husband Ken of Hurlock, Md. and Martin L. Kirby and his wife Wendy of Millsboro; her mother, Mary Fisher of Millsboro; three brothers, John Fisher of Dagsboro, David Fisher and Bruce Fisher of Millsboro and a sister, Lisa Myers of Lewes. She was a loving grandmother to Shenika Kirby of Lincoln, Rebecca Wales of Midway, Ky., Martin L. Kirby Jr., Justin and Dustin Timmons of Millsboro; and three great-grandchildren.

 

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 29, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Pastor James Burton will officiate. Burial will follow at the Dagsboro Redmen's Memorial Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Pat Kirby to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
