MKC, Blue Heron Agility Dogs to hold Match Show April 14

Obedience, Rally, Agility events also on deck

Mispillion Kennel Club and Blue Heron Agility Dogs will hold a Match Show, Obedience/Rally Show ‘n’ Go and Agility runs Sunday, April 14, at 22998 Rum Bridge Road, Georgetown. Pre-entry fee, available for some events, is $8 (due by Thursday, April 11) or $10 on day of the match. Price for juniors is $5.

The event will occur rain or shine. Food and drinks will be provided by MKC and Dr. Jim “BBQ” Foor. A photographer will be available as well as a vet on call through Delmarva Emergency Clinic.

Breed entries are taken day of match from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Junior Showmanship judging will begin at 10:15 a.m., with breed judging to follow. Wins at this match carry no championship points. No dogs with taped ears are allowed. Poodles must be in show clip. Professional handlers may only show dogs they own. Judges will be used at the show committee’s discretion.

Obedience entries have a pre-entry deadline of April 11. Obedience Show 'n' Go will begin at 9 a.m. Additional runs available after all other entries are completed. All dogs must be at least 6 months old.

Rally entries also have a pre-entry deadline of April 11. Rally will follow obedience.

Agility entries will enter day of match from 8:30 a.m. There is no pre-entry.

Canine Good Citizen testing will begin at 10 a.m. after registration is completed. The cost for the CGC test will be $10, and the test will be conducted by Cynthia Martin. Proof of rabies vaccination will be necessary.

The microchip clinic will run from 9 to 11 a.m. The $30 per pet fee includes registration.
