Alvin L. Foraker, accomplished mechanic

Alvin L. Foraker, 81, of Milton, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013, at home.

Alvin was born in Harrington, son of the late Richard and Fannie (Raughley) Foraker.

 

He was the assistant chief for Lewes Board of Public Works, retiring several years ago. He loved fishing, NASCAR and WWE; as an accomplished mechanic, he enjoyed building and driving race cars.

Alvin was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

 

In addition to his parents and siblings, Alvin is preceded in death by his wife: Mary A. Foraker; and a son: Robert Marciniszyn.

 

He is survived by three children: George Marciniszyn and wife Debbie, and Fannie Pickett, all of New Castle, and Elizabeth Moore and fiance Granville William Mills of Milton; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.

 

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 4, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton with visitation after 11 a.m. Burial will be in Barratts Chapel Cemetery.
