Association of Realtors works diligently

April 8, 2013

The Sussex County Association of Realtors is a not-for-profit trade association that has over 1,200 members in Sussex County.  Our members are as diverse as the community we serve. This year, the National Association of Realtors celebrates our 100th anniversary of the Realtor Code of Ethics.

Only those real estate and appraisal licensees who subscribe to the code of ethics and membership requirements may use the term Realtor or the trademark and brand of the association in conjunction with their membership. All members must be licensed in accordance with the state; however, not all licensees are members of the association.

The official spokespersons for the association include the president, president-elect, and the executive vice president. Opinions and comments offered by other members of the association do not represent the association nor the policies and positions of the association.

While the association encourages community involvement and activism, we work diligently to ensure the association has one strong voice on behalf of our members. We appreciate that many of our members may have competing interests and business plans that are presented to the public in a variety of methods; however, our goal is to ensure a clear and accurate picture to the public and our members.

We appreciate readers' interest in local real estate and ask that they contact the association, “the voice for real estate in Sussex County” with your questions or concerns.
