Reginald Gillespie, DuPont retiree

Reginald "Reggie" Gillespie, 83, of Seaford, died Saturday, April 6, 2013.

Reggie graduated from Millsboro High School. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Noah from 1951 to 1955. He retired from the DuPont Company in Seaford in 1985 after 36 years of service. He was a member of United Tour Riders Motorcycle Club. He was the son of the late George W. and Florence G. Gillespie and was also preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Gillespie in 1993; and a sister, Norma Rust.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Thelma Johnson Gillespie, two sons, Ronnie Gillespie and his wife Lana, and Gene Gillespie and friend Melody Starke; a daughter, Brenda Ryan and her husband Michael; grandchildren, Brian Tull and his wife Stephanie, Lauren Tull Whaley, Kristin Gillespie and Ryan Gillespie; two great-grandsons, Avery Tull and Carter Whaley; and a sister, Olga Stayton.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St., Seaford, where friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 28467 DuPont Blvd., Millsboro, DE 19966.
