James F. Dusek, World War II veteran

James F. Dusek, 89, of Lewes, formerly of Baltimore, Md., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his home.

Mr. Dusek was born in Baltimore Nov. 26, 1923, son of the late James and Rose (Dvota) Dusek. He was a veteran of World War II, serving from 1942-45 in the United States Navy.

After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Jim worked for the Glenn L. Martin Company in Baltimore for 10 years. He then worked for the City of Baltimore, retiring from the sanitation department in 1985 after 26 years of service. Jim and his wife moved from Baltimore to Lewes in 1988. Mr. Dusek was a member of Conley’s United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro and Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 in Lewes.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Eileen (Ruby) Dusek; three children, Diane K. Huber and her husband Jeffery of Lewes, Kathleen Rose Smith and her husband Scott of Rehoboth Beach and James J. Dusek of Lewes; one grandson, Jason Reinhart and his wife Brenda of Baltimore; and two great-grandchildren, Catherine and Edward Reinhart, both of Baltimore.

A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, April 13, at Conley’s United Methodist Church, 33106 Jolyns Way, Lewes. A luncheon will follow the service. Interment will be private.
