Robert H. Ralph, knew harness racing
Robert H. "Bobby" Ralph of Harrington passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Bobby was born Feb. 27, 1954, the son of the late Iva Baker Ralph and James Archie Ralph Sr.
Bobby loved and was very knowledgeable of the harness racing families in Harrington and in his early years worked in the stables. His favorite pastime activities included playing solitaire and playing his daily lottery numbers. He loved spending time with his family during holiday events and cherished his memories of his sister and family visits from Arkansas when they would vacation in Delaware.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half-brother, Samuel Lyons. Bobby is survived by his sister, Janice Bridges and husband Kenneth of Morrilton, Ark.; brother, James A. Ralph, Jr. and wife Gail of Felton; brother, Ivan Lee Ralph and wife Terry of Lewes; and sister-in-law, Betty Lyons of Greenwood; his loving nieces and nephews, Stefanie Ralph, Tammy Gatzke, Tina Lyons, Lisa Ralph Williams, Bridget Brady David (Greg) Kelley and Doug Kelley and their families; also survived by many members of the Ralph and Baker families with special remembrance of his aunt Doris's caring and loving concern, along with his aunt Ruth.
Services are private and will be held at the convenience of his immediate family. Donations can be made in his honor to Delaware Hospice Inc., 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
The family would like to sincerely thank Bobby's caregivers from the staff of Bayhealth Milford, the staff at the Milford Hospice Center and all his loving and caring nurses from hospice. Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Milford.
