A Milton man was cited for inattentive driving after a crash April 12 that closed Route 9 for a couple of hours.
Clifton W. Walther, 51, of Milton was driving a van eastbound on Route 9 west of Cool Springs Road at 10:30 a.m. when he drifted off the road and hit a parked trash truck, said Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.
The crash pushed the truck into the roadway where it was struck by a Buick Verano driven by Donald D. Newson, 79, of Georgetown, Fournier said.
The vehicles blocked traffic in both directions of Route 9.
Walther was not properly restrained. He was ejected from his vehicle and taken to Beebe Medical Center where he was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries. He was cited for inattentive driving.
Newson was properly restrained and was also taken to Beebe Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries.
