Anna M. Jackson, avid cruiser

April 17, 2013

After a valiant eight-year battle with cancer, Anna M. Jackson of Viera, Fla., died peacefully Sunday, April 14, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Chester, Pa., July 27, 1932, to the late Joseph and Josephine Papi. After her marriage in 1955 she moved to Delaware and raised her family there. She then retired to Rehoboth Beach  and finally moved to Viera in 2002.

Anna was a dedicated wife and mother and loved spending time with her family. Her favorite pastime was cruising, and she has been on more than 20 cruises over the past 10 years. She was a talented seamstress and made all of her granddaughter’s holiday dresses.

She was very hardworking and was especially proud of her work at Wawa, where she worked her way up to the position of store manager. She was a proud member of the Viera Lions Club and the Lydia Circle at Sun Tree United Methodist Church. She was also involved with Relay for Life for many years.

Anna is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Robert Jackson; children Susan Lindell (Mark) and Ted Jackson of Delaware; sisters Mary Passaro of Pennsylvania, and Joan Beck of Texas; grandchildren Kristin, Karen, Kimberly and Kelsey Lindell, and Katie Ann Jackson of Delaware; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Tahn, Dr. Luthra and the dedicated nursing staff at the Brevard Cancer Care Center for their compassionate care during her illness. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Viera Lions Club in Anna’s memory, Viera Lions, P.O. Box 561377, Rockledge, FL 32956-1377.

Services will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with the service at 11 a.m., at Faith Viera Lutheran Church, 5550 Faith Drive, Rockledge, Fla.
