Harry F. Hayes Sr., Pittsburgh Steelers fan
Surrounded by family, Harry F. Hayes Sr., 51, of Newark passed away suddenly of complications from asthma Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Christiana Hospital.
Born Aug. 5, 1961, in Wilmington, Harry was the son of Faye Y. Schenck of Lewes and the late Paul E. Hayes.
Harry was a 1981 graduate of McKean High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching his Pittsburgh Steelers but most of all spending time with his two sons, Philip and Harry Jr., whom he adored. He will always be remembered as a loving father, brother and son.
In addition to his mother and sons, Harry is survived by his sister, Deborah Hayes of Wilmington, sister Anna DeLapo (husband Angelo) of Rehoboth Beach, his brother James Hayes of Wilmington, and his sister Stacey Gracie (husband Scott) of Middletown. Harry also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 20, at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, followed by a service in celebration of Harry's life at 3 p.m. Burial will be private.
