Georgetown to hold Spring into Spring Festival May 18

Georgetown will be celebrating spring in a big way at  the annual Spring into Spring Festival from 1 to 9 p.m., Saturday, May 18, at The Circle. Live entertainment will be held throughout the event.

The festival opens with the popular First State Force band, composed of law enforcement members from different departments in Delaware, performing from 1 to 2 p.m. on the stage set up at The Circle. The following bands will also be providing outstanding live entertainment: Cruzers 3 to 5 p.m., 33 and 1/3 5 to 7 p.m. and Funsters 7 to 9 p.m.

The Fourth Annual Spicer Memorial Car Show will take place at the courthouse parking lot, adjacent to The Circle. Registration for this event is from 9 to 11:30 a.m. with trophy presentations at 2:30 p.m.

There will be lots of fun for the kids including face painting beginning at 3 p.m., Lil’ Toot train rides from 1 to 4 p.m., kids' fingerprinting from 1 to 3 p.m. and magic shows performed by Brian Boyd at 1, 3 and 5 p.m.

Vendors showcasing crafts, antiques and lots of goodies will be stationed around The Circle. Attendees should bring lawn chairs.

In conjunction with the festival, the Sussex County Council has announced the grand opening of Arena’s at the Airport. Free shuttle service will be provided from The Circle to the Georgetown Airport for this event.
