Cape softball drops close 3-2 game to Delmar

The Cape softball dropped a close and winnable 3-2 game to Delmar April 18, dropping to 1-4 on the season.

Cape has now lost close games to Milford, Sussex Tech, Laurel and  Delmar.

Delmar, 8-0, playing at Caravel April 20, lost 3-2 in eight innings to the Buccaneers, coached by former Cape standout Randy Johnson, when pitcher Carolyn Szymanski hit a walk-off home run.

Cape's four losses have come against top-flight teams with a combined record of 27-6. The Vikings are moving into a phase of the schedule where they can play their way back into tournament contention.
