The Beacon and Mariner track teams run all their home meets on Cape's all-weather tartan track. That takes tremendous cooperation with Cape's high school programs. Middle school track has become a happening with lots of spectators and plenty of talent.

This Friday is the rescheduled running of the Jim Blades Invitational, which includes 10 middle school teams. Mariner was scheduled to attend the Penn Relays in Philadelphia as a field trip with coach Julie Jackson.

The Beacon girls, undefeated on the dual-meet season, will go after the elusive Jim Blades title won by Chipman last season.
