Ride to the Tide raises record $27,000 for Special Olympics Delaware

On April 21, 572 bikers raised more than $27,000 at the seventh annual Ride to the Tide to benefit Special Olympics Delaware. Both numbers were records for the event, which has now raised more than $108,000 for the organization.

Joining the bikers on the ride from either Newark or Dover to Rehoboth Beach were 183 passengers. All participants enjoyed a complimentary lunch at Jake's Seafood House in Rehoboth Beach.

The event, sponsored by Delmarva Power and organized by the Delaware Blue Knights - Chapter 1, benefits 3,500 Special Olympics athletes who participate year-round in 20 sports.
