Cape lacrosse girls beat Dover 20-2

Senators goalies combine for 19 saves

The Cape girls' lacrosse team won at Dover April 23, 20-2, improving to 8-0 on the season but the big story on Action News: "Senators' goalie Kelly Conaway with 12 first-half saves!"

“I don’t think that has ever happened to a team I coached,” P.J. Kesmodel said at halftime. “I give their kid credit and have to ask my players to make better shot decisions and to finish.”

Cape had four players each with three goals – Anna Frederick, Sara Young, Kat Judge and Sarah Tappan. Karalyn Joseph, Jordan Brown and Lexi Woodruff each had two goals. Allie Yeager and Lizzie Frederick each scored a goal.

Assists were by Sara Young 2, Allie Yeager 2, Sarah Tappan 2 and Karalyn Joseph.

Graeleigh Lackey had two goals for the Senators.

Cape is scheduled to play Saint Andrew’s at Champions Stadium at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 25.
