Lewes mayor announces food bank drive

April 25, 2013

This Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the City of Lewes will be hosting the second annual food drive to benefit the Delaware Food Bank. Items can be donated at any of the following locations: Lewes Fire Department Station 1 on Savannah Road, Kids’ Ketch on Second Street, or Trinity Faith Christian Center on New Road.

Items such as non-perishable foods, household supplies, or pet supplies are welcome. Lewes is in a partnership with Cape Henlopen High School to gather food and supplies for those less fortunate and in need. Our efforts are an extension of the City of Lewes involvement with the Jefferson Awards Global Youth Service Challenge.

Please take a few minutes to contribute to our efforts and help us surpass our last year accomplishment of over 4000 pounds of goods. I know we can do it, and thank you in advance for your contribution.

Mayor Jim Ford

Lewes
