Modern Mixture granted permit of compliance

The Rehoboth Beach commissioners unanimously approved a permit of compliance for Modern Mixture, 62-A Rehoboth Ave., to serve alcohol.

Owner Steven Rhone said he sought a permit, which a restaurant must get before it can receive a liquor license, because he was losing customers who wanted to have a drink with their meal.

He said he wanted to grow his clientele and will also hire additional staff to handle drinks. A seated bar is not planned; Rhone said the staff will serve drinks to customers at tables. A host at the door will ensure drinks do not leave the premises, he said.
