Batter up! It's time for baseball to take center stage

April 25, 2013

The Flyers' and Sixers' seasons are pretty much over with neither team having any playoff chances. Even with the short hockey season due to the ridiculously long strike, the Flyers gave us a very disappointing showing. They had so much talent on this team but never lived up to the expectations we all had.

I knew the 76ers were doomed from the start and that it was going to be a long, frustrating season. Their best player, Andrew Bynum, did not play a single game this season because of the injuries to both his knees. Makes me crazy that we make these pricey trades and then lose the player even before the season starts. The resignation of their coach, Doug Collins, pretty much tells you all you need to know. It's going to be tough trying to replace a class act like him!

The only good thing about the early endings for basketball and hockey is that MAYBE Comcast Sportsnet will actually show a decent number of Phillies' games this season.
