Delaware Tech Owens nursing instructors achieve CNE credential

Delaware Tech Owens Campus recently had several instructors from its Nursing Department obtain the Certified Nurse Educator credential. To date, more than 50 percent of Owens Campus nursing faculty members have obtained the CNE credential.

Certification in any field is a mark of professionalism. For academic nurse educators, it establishes nursing education as a specialty area of practice and creates a means for faculty to demonstrate their expertise in this role. It communicates to students, peers and the academic and healthcare communities that the highest standards of excellence are being met. By becoming credentialed as certified nurse educators, faculty members serve as leaders and role models. Faculty must meet eligibility requirements and pass a rigorous exam to obtain this credential.
