Hundreds get down and dirty at Quest Fitness Mud Run

May 3, 2013

Nearly 500 adventurous souls made their way off the beaten path to The Farm west of Milton April 29 to run in the third annual Quest Fitness Mud Run. This year's edition of the race featured a configured course with a few new obstacles that were guaranteed to get everyone dirty.

The trio of Jake Bamforth, Sam Here and Austin MacElrevey, all Cape Region boys, crossed the finish line within tenths of a second of each other (23:27.7-9) to complete the race in a virtual tie. Thirty-eight-year-old Sheri Minear was the fastest female competitor with a time of 31:39.8.

Following the competition, a mini-mudder race was held to ensure children had an equal opportunity to get dirty. The field of 72 children was a mad dash, as all participants finished the course within 1:12.
