Villages at Five Points concerns raised

May 2, 2013

We bought our beautiful home at Villages at Five Points West in March 2004.

We were one of the first families to move into a house here.  We were told by the Gemcraft Realtor that the property across from the community's shopping center would never be used for any commercial purpose.  All businesses would be on the Food Lion side of the development in order to keep all commercial enterprises away from the residential section.

My husband and I never supported building a CVS here, and never wore a CVS T-shirt at a Sussex County Council meeting. The Cape Gazette quoted Sussex County Council Democrat John Deaver, who, supported building a CVS, that Villages at Five Points has a traffic light at Main Street and Savanah Road!  This being her reason for supporting the building of another unnecessary pharmacy where she doesn't live.

We are upset that a commercial business of this type will be open 24/7 -  something we consider could be unsafe for the people living here.

Also, when was it made known to this community that the Lewes Public Library was going to place a reading garden on this property?

Chris Hudson stated last week, in this newspaper that he was disgusted with Villages at Five Points.  We are disgusted as well, but for very different reasons.
