Last year’s city council race was a pretty close one. My uncle, Dennis T. Reardon, ran last year and we, his supporters, were disappointed when he did not win a seat on council. However, when I asked him if he was disappointed, his response was sure he was, but he wasn’t discouraged. He said he would stay involved and get right back on the horse for this year’s election.
Dedication. Tenacity. Determination. These are just some of the qualities in Dennis that make him an outstanding choice for city council. He has a true passion for Lewes and the drive to do what is best for the city. Dennis is willing to delve into details, ask the difficult questions, and look for the best answer. He is not afraid to speak his mind or ask others their viewpoint.
In fact, he is the type of person who knows how critical it is to have many different views come together to make sound decisions. As a Family Court master, he was obligated to gather all the facts, hear the arguments, and develop a fair and reasonable solution for each case presented. This gift comes naturally to Dennis; it is a part of who he is. I feel this trait is crucial to a working and effective council.
I know Dennis will work hard with other members of council to keep the City of Lewes on the great path that lies before us. All of us, residents, part-timers, or visitors, want to see the city continue to grow and thrive while keeping the charm and history in balance. I feel the entire community would benefit with Dennis on city council.
