Beaufait merits re-election to city council

May 2, 2013

The Lewes Homeowners Association’s Candidates' Forum that was held last Friday night provided the voters with the opportunity to hear from the four candidates running for Lewes City Council as to their positions on issues of concern to both the candidates and the public. The candidates were in agreement on all the issues and therefore as voters we have to decide on which of the two candidates will be most effective as members of the Lewes City Council.

Fred Beautfait’s comments on Friday night were specific and objective with an emphasis on working with and as part of the city council in addressing the city’s issues. As a current member of city council Fred has demonstrated his understanding of the issues and his ability work with the mayor and the other city council members.

I have known Fred for 10 years and can attest to his passion for the city and for being an effective council member. By re-electing Fred the voters are not only returning a proven effective member of city council, but are eliminating the “learning period” that will be needed by the other candidates.
