I am writing this letter to add my endorsement to the candidacy of Dennis Reardon for a seat on the Lewes City Council. To many of you Dennis may seem to be too much of a quiet and reserved person to serve on a deliberative and decisive body such as our council. However, once you get to know him, his deportment is anything but.
He has the experience of private industry and government decision making, none more important than the position as chief master of Family Court and deputy attorney general in Delaware. Having spent 25 years as an assistant attorney general in Maryland, I understand the push and pull that you are under as a government attorney. It's called politics.
As chief master, Dennis had to hone his ability to listen intensely before making life-altering decisions. He and his wife have owned a home in Lewes since 1971 and since 2006 have lived here full-time. He has already committed himself to the city as a member of the planning commission, the BPW Citizens Round Table Group, and the Overfalls Foundation board where I first met him.
I applaud his commitment to preserving and protecting Lewes' historical past with the same fervor that I carry. So, as a comrade in arms, I fully support Dennis for Lewes City Council and ask the same of the citizens of Lewes.
