The Georgetown Farmers Market is opening for its fourth season Wednesday, May 22. The Georgetown market will operate from 3 to 6 p.m., every Wednesday thereafter at the North Bedford Street Park, next to the Georgetown Presbyterian Church, two blocks north of The Circle in Georgetown.
“Once again, we have the ideal setting for a farmers’ market, says Karen Duffield, executive director of he Georgetown Chamber of Commerce. “It is a wonderfully peaceful and cool spot to protect the vendors, and it invites customers to relax and enjoy their marketing.”
Kyle Serman, chair of the Applied Agriculture Department at Delaware Technical Community College and lifelong resident of Georgetown, will return this year as Georgetown’s market master. “This bodes very well for our market,” Duffield said. “2012 was Kyle’s first year as our market master, and it was our most successful ever. We are confident that the 2013 season will be even stronger.”
The Georgetown Farmers Market also includes local crafters in its mix. “If you make your own product and want to sell it at our market, we welcome your participation, “ says Duffield.
