Lewes mayor thanks contributors

May 3, 2013

On behalf of the City of Lewes, I would like to thank everyone affiliated with our 2013 Food Drive to benefit the Delaware Food Bank. A special recognition goes out to Cape Henlopen High School, Lewes Fire Department, Kids’ Ketch and Trinity Faith Christian Center for providing collection locations and volunteers.

Also thanks to Michele Fidance of the Jefferson Awards Program, WGMD, The Cape Gazette, The Lewes Historical Society, The Lewes Chamber of Commerce, The Overfalls Foundation, and the Pilottown Village Homeowners Association for assistance with promotion.

In particular, a special thank you goes out to everyone who contributed donations. Certainly, the one in four of those living in Delaware in need of help appreciate your support. While we can always achieve more, we did raise over 2,000 pounds of food donations, and every bit helps. Your contributions reflect the integrity of our community while serving a need for our fellow mankind.

Lewes Mayor Jim Ford
