JROTC cadets participate in Delaware National Guard field competition

Cadets Ross and Betts go one-two in Knock-Out Drill

Sixteen Cape Henlopen Army JROTC cadets competed against teams from eight other Delaware high schools in the Delaware National Guard Best of the Best JROTC field activities April 27 at Killens Pond. The competition consisted of a Physical Fitness Test, Map Reading, a Delaware and United States Military History Academic Challenge, and a Drill Competition.

The Cape Henlopen team consisted of cadets Alexandra Mueller, Sylvester Lovett, Dean Hysock, Jennifer Stirrup, Cassidy Blevins, Josh Betts, Mark Couchman, Eric Miller, Carlos Rodriguez, Joseph Montebell, Cody Ross, Caleb Pavese, Ross Hicks, Quentin Bradford, Sarah Coo, and Dominique Tusso. Cadet Cody Ross finished first and Josh Betts finished second in the difficult and challenging Individual Knock-Out Drill that involved more than 100 cadets.
