Back Porch to exhibit art by Carol Carpenter through June 13

May 10, 2013

The Back Porch Café in Rehoboth Beach is showing works of Maryland artist Carol Carpenter through June 13.

Carpenter is a professional artist who has been painting since the 1960s and teaching art to seniors at Howard Community College in Columbia, Md., for more than 25 years. She is a graduate of Antioch University with a dual major in art and psychology.

Carpenter’s painting style is abstract. She is an intuitive painter who utilizes color, form and texture to create abstract impressions of nature, primarily land- and seascapes. She works with oil, acrylic and watercolor media on a variety of surfaces.

Carpenter has participated in group and solo exhibitions in galleries in Maryland and Delaware and the Deland Museum of Art in Florida. Her work has been favorably reviewed by the Baltimore Sun and Columbia Flier newspapers and the Howard County Cable Television Network. She has won multiple awards through the Baltimore Watercolor Society.
