Delmarva Chicken Festival to include June 22 car show

S. H. Car Events will host a major car show during the 64th Delmarva Chicken Festival in Snow Hill, Md. Show organizer and sponsor Royal Plus Inc. expects more than 100 vehicles to arrive Saturday,

June 22, for exhibition between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. The show will be held in downtown Snow Hill, and shuttle service will be available to transport visitors between the car show and the main festival site at Byrd Park.

According to event coordinators, the show will include antiques, classics, customs, street rods, trucks and special-interest vehicles. A $10 registration fee will be payable the day of the show. Commemorative dash plaques will be presented to the first 100 registered vehicles. An awards ceremony at 2:30 p.m. will present trophies to the Tops in Show in addition to sponsor-choice trophies.

Local groups will provide live music throughout the show and outgoing Miss Delaware Alyssa Murray will make the final public appearance of her reign.

The Delmarva Chicken Festival Car Show will benefit the Snow Hill Chamber of Commerce's Independence Day Fireworks Fund.

The car show is one of many activities scheduled for the two-day Delmarva Chicken Festival, Friday and Saturday, June 21 and 22, in Snow Hill. The festival, open to the public with free admission, is sponsored annually by Delmarva Poultry Industry Inc and hosted in 2013 by the Town of Snow Hill, the Snow Hill Chamber of Commerce and the Snow Hill Chicken Festival Committee.
