Marion Elizabeth Price, 71, of Lewes, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013.
She was born to the late Iliff and Lillian Whiteman, Jan. 28, 1942, in Washington, D.C. Marion grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y., and attended Fort Hamilton High School. She married Frederic Price in 1964 and they lived in New Jersey before moving to Lewes in 1975.
Marion was a devoted mother and volunteer. She was once a Little League softball coach, a Girl Scout troop leader, and the Delaware state regent for the Daughters of the American Revolution, of which she was a member for more than 40 years. Marion used to love watching her daughters in their sporting events and volunteering with the school band before they left home for college.
Marion is survived by her husband Fred; her sister, Virginia Hone of Klamath Falls, Ore.; and her two daughters: Donna Curtis of Carmel, N.Y. and Cindy Washeck of Sammamish, Wash. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Meghan, Shannon, and Jack Curtis; and Riley and Blake Washeck.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 11, at Lewes Presbyterian Church.
