Thomas E. Gladwell, retired bus mechanic

Thomas E. Gladwell, 67, of Lewes, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Thomas was born in Yonkers, N.Y., son of the late Ernest and Mary (Ferraro) Gladwell. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired bus mechanic for the New York City Transit Authority.

Tom attended Conley’s United Methodist Church in Lewes. He loved the Christmas and the Fourth of July holidays.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas E. Gladwell Jr., and his wife Amy, and Dennis F. Gladwell and his wife Heather; his brother, John Gladwell and his wife Adela; and two grandchildren, Thomas E. Gladwell III, and Alyssa Gladwell.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 15, at Conley’s United Methodist Church, 33106 Jolyn’s Way, Lewes, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Thomas’ memory to Conley’s U.M. Church Building Fund, 33106 Jolyn’s Way, Lewes, DE 19958, or Compassionate Care Hospice, 28467 DuPont Blvd., Suite 6, Millsboro, DE 19966.
