May 20, 2013

Kansas City, Mo.-based Butler Manufacturing announced recently that the Whayland Co., a Delmarva construction firm for the last 63 years, has been named one of the company’s premier builders.

The High Performance Builder Award bestowed upon Whayland emphasizes the company’s continuing commitment to quality construction services on the Delmarva Peninsula. It also recognizes Whayland’s growing market penetration in Sussex County, as well as in neighboring Wicomico County, Md.

“We are certainly honored to partner with a company like Butler that shares our vision of high-quality products and service,” says Steve Hentschel, president of the Laurel-based Whayland Company. “We are proud to offer Butler products as part of our materials list and hope to continue working with them for many years to come.”

Butler Manufacturing provides design-build construction solutions and innovative building technology to the nonresidential market. This High Performance Builder Award is given to Butler dealers that meet or exceed annual territory sales goals and demonstrate superior marketing skills in selling Butler buildings.

Whayland has had a long relationship with the company, not only dealing in high-quality construction products but also, more recently, in providing solar panels and other environmentally friendly products.

Whayland has continuously been one of the top sellers of Butler products in Delaware, as well as the Eastern Shore of Maryland, culminating in the recent recognition by the company’s regional office in Annville, Pa.

“Whayland has been a Butler Builder since 1999 and a contractor for more than 50 years,” says Melissa Stewart, regional sales manager for Butler. “They are a consistent performer that offers quality construction and value to their many satisfied customers. Whayland represents everything we look for in a Butler Builder.”

For more than six decades, the Whayland Co., has served the Delmarva Peninsula’s business community. It's partnerships with companies like Butler that have allowed the company to continue gaining market share on Delmarva.

“In all the years that I have been associated with the Whayland Co., Butler is one of the companies I always knew I could count on for quality products at a reasonable cost,” says Bob Wheatley, Whayland’s director of business development. “I have always been honored to work with the folks at Butler, and I am very proud to accept this gracious and prestigious award from them.”

Butler Manufacturing was founded in 1901 and currently operates manufacturing, engineering and service centers throughout the United States and the world. The company’s products are primarily sold, installed and serviced through independent dealers like the Whayland Co.

Since 1950, the management and staff of the Whayland Co., has worked continuously to secure its reputation as a high-value, reasonably priced provider of construction and project management services on the Delmarva Peninsula.
