Sixth annual Summer Spirituality Series begins May 30

May 19, 2013

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and Seekers, Spiritual Treasures at St. Peter’s Square announce the sixth annual Summer Spirituality Series beginning at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 30, in the Parish Hall at 211 Mulberry St., Lewes.

The series’ topics are not only interesting, but diversified, ranging from creativity and yoga to in-depth discussions about Incas and the universe. All are invited for all, or some, of the 13 guest speakers and topics scheduled, including Dr. Uday Jani who will discuss Spirituality & Health: Integrative Medicine, or the Rev. Carlyle Gill who will talk about Women in the Bible. World-renowned speaker Dr. Jim Mullaney will discuss The Science & Spirituality of Stargazing, and the Rev. Jeffrey Ross of St. Peter's will speak on the value and importance of Ethical Wills. As in years past, fellowship and locally owned King's ice cream cones will follow each presentation.

In addition to providing spiritual resources for those seeking greater understanding of their own religion, or learning about others, Seekers uses the net proceeds from the store to help those in need, including the Cape Henlopen Food Basket, Doctors without Borders, and work in Haiti and Centro Infantil in San Miguel de Allende.

The tentative schedule is as follows:

May 30 - ”The Mind-Body Connection,” Uday Jani, MD; June 6 - “10 Hymns You Need to Discover,” T.J. Thomas, St. Peter's minister of music; June 13 - “Insight on the Spirituality of the Incas,” Jose A.
