Best of the Beach Art Auction set June 8

May 18, 2013
"Summer View, Lewes Harbor," oil by Denise Dumont. This painting will be auctioned June 8 at the Best of the Beach event.

Beebe Medical Foundation’s 24th Annual Best of the Beach Art Auction, Dinner & Dance will take place Saturday, June 8, beginning at 6 p.m. under a tent on the grounds of Beebe Medical Center’s Beebe Health Campus on Route 24 in Rehoboth Beach.

The annual Best of the Beach fundraiser galvanizes community support for both Beebe Medical Center and the Rehoboth Art League. This important fundraising event well deserves its top billing as the most enjoyable evening of the summer season.

The featured artist is Denise Dumont, an American realist painter drawn to the coastal landscapes and cityscapes of the Atlantic region. She currently resides in Delaware near the coast. Dumont's paintings are held in public and private collections in the United States and abroad. She exhibits regularly and is represented by fine art galleries in the Mid-Atlantic region.

This year, Big Fish Grill will cater, and the ever-popular Love Seed Mama Jump will keep partygoers on the dance floor. Besides the showcase live auction, the evening will include a traditional silent auction featuring art and gift items.

The proceeds of the 2013 Art Auction will support Beebe Medical Center in expanding healthcare services in Millsboro, Georgetown, Millville and Milton. Beebe will open a facility soon in Millsboro on Route 113 in partnership with Mid-Atlantic Family Practice. Beebe outpatient services to be provided at the Millsboro location include Beebe Lab Express and Beebe Imaging to include radiology and mammography. Beebe also will open a walk-in care center.

Beebe rehab services, consisting of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology, remain on Mitchell Street. By expanding further into western Sussex County, Beebe will continue to provide outstanding healthcare to those who live in and visit area communities.
