Cape baseball rocks triple 14 on Seaford in 14-9 win

Cape baseball laid down the seldom seen triple 14 crooked number for the first time in school history May 13 at Chris Short Field, beating winless Seaford 14-9, while collecting 14 hits and stealing 14 bases.

Seaford has lost 39 games in a row. They are the last Henlopen Conference team to win a state championship, going back to 1993.

Cape is at the beginning of a four-game week that includes games versus Woodbridge, Delmarva Christian and Saint Mark's, and must win them all for a glimmer of a chance of procuring an at-large berth in the 16-team state tournament.

Lefty Dan Lougheed got the win for Cape, with relief help from Tyler Clendaniel and George Lewis.

Third baseman Adam Marcinizyn collected 3 hits and 4 RBI for the Vikings. Cape (9-6) plays at Woodbridge Tuesday, May 14.
