Home Repair Project partners with Keller Williams to help local homeowner

May 21, 2013

Keller Williams Realty of Dover, working with Milford Housing Development Corporation’s Home Repair Project, stripped an old roof off a senior citizen’s home in Dover Air Park, replaced rotten underlayment and shingled the back side of the house on May 9.

The volunteers also built a new deck with steps on the back of the house along with new steps on the side entrance. Keller William’s volunteers also made progress on building a handicapped ramp to allow the couple’s disabled daughter easier access into the home.

Keller Williams Realty has a year-round commitment to improve local communities through the RED Day initiative (Renew, Energize and Donate). Each year, on the second Thursday in May, thousands of associates from the United States and Canada devote their time to renew and energize aspects of the communities in which they serve.

The Home Repair Project provides emergency-related health and safety repairs to qualified Delaware homeowners. With the help of volunteers and grants obtained through local partnerships, all repairs are provided at no cost to qualified recipients. Since 1991, the Home Repair Project has helped thousands of families make their homes safer.
