Robert 'Bob' Zabit, loved the outdoors

Robert “Bob” Zabit, 64 of Frankford, formerly of Fairfield, N.J., died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, in Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, Md., after a courageous fight with pulmonary fibrosis.

He was born May 23, 1948, in Paterson, N.J. to Gerarda Anna Van Dommelen and Joseph Zabit, both whom preceded him in death. Bob lived in Fairfield, for most of his life and was the proprietor of Dutchdale Farms Inc. before retiring to Frankford. Bob loved the outdoors and spent his free time deer hunting, turkey hunting, and trout fishing. He was a long time member of the Fairfield Sportsman’s Club.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Dale; his daughters, Sandy Westermann and Brenda Brickner; and grandchildren, Schuyler, Lyndsee, Tabitha, Evangeline, Elijah and Zander Westermann and Emma and Bobby Brickner.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 30, at the Peninsula Community Church, 28574 Cypress Road, Selbyville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in memory of Robert “Bob” Zabit, 230 East Ohio St., Suite 304, Chicago, IL 60611.
