Deborah 'Debbie' Lober, enjoyed crocheting

Deborah "Debbie" L. Lober, 59, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home Friday, May 17, 2013, surrounded by her family.

Born in Wilmington, Debbie was the daughter of the late Albert Merritt and Dorothy Handlin. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. For eight years she was the catering coordinator for Bachetti Brothers and previously worked for the Christiana Hilton.

Debbie enjoyed crocheting blankets for almost every baby she knew and making scarves and blankets which she donated to cancer patients and dog shelters. She loved dogs and her dog Cupcake will miss her dearly.

Debbie cherished being a Mom Mom and enjoyed watching her grandsons grow and play. She enjoyed spending time in Cape May, N.J.

Debbie displayed courage and strength during the past few years and she will be dearly missed by her husband, David N. Lober; her daughter, Cathy Solomon; her sons, Jamie Solomon and his wife Stacy, and Michael Solomon, all of Wilmington; her stepdaughter, Bailey Lober; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Norma and Fran Zimny of Lewes, Jean and Bill Ahern of Elkton, Md., and Charlotte and Jim Holloway of Magnolia; and her grandsons Dylan and Nathan Solomon.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington where visitation will begin after noon. Interment will be private.

The family would like to thank friends, family and the staff at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center for their prayers and support. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.
