Anna C. Hudson, family top priority

Anna C. Hudson, 88, of Milton, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013, in her home, with her loving family at her side.

 

Ann was a sales associate with Milton Hardware for 44 years and upon the store closing, she worked as a greeter for 13 years at Short Funeral Services.

 

Nothing in life was more important to Ann than her family. Ann was not only a devoted mother to her own children, but to many nieces, nephews and her children’s friends. Meeting the needs of her family and friends was Ann’s number one priority and she did it with all the love and compassion she had, always wanting and willing to do more. Ann did manage to find time to volunteer her services with the Milton American Legion Auxiliary and in the past the Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodge. Ann was a member of Groome United Methodist Church of Lewes.

 

Ann is survived by her son, Larry Johnson and his wife Donna of Milton; daughter-in law Leslie Johnson of Milford; her grandchildren, Denise R. Lovett and her husband Michael of Hockessin, Ann Marie Donovan and her husband Cameron of Smyrna, Matt Johnson of North Carolina, Cassie L. Duffy and her husband Sean of Greenwood and Stephanie Johnson of Newark; along with stepson Michael Hudson and his wife Brenda and stepdaughter, Bunny Casey and her husband Frank, all of Cool Spring. Ann was blessed with nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many, many nieces and nephews.

 

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, John Reuben and Anna Bell Hudson; her brothers, Harold F., Harry T., and James R. Hudson; and her sister, Louie May Jackson. In addition she also was preceded by her first husband George Holland “Hi” Johnson; her son, Steven Dennis Johnson; her daughter, Cheryl Ann Johnson; as well as her second husband, Steven “Paul” Hudson.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 24, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call Thursday night from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.
