Cape girls' lax wins fifth straight title

May 24, 2013

Cape continued its dominance of Delaware girls' lacrosse tonight, beating Tower Hill 12-10 at Dover High to win its fifth straight state title.

The closer-than-expected game was tied 6-6 at half, but Cape pulled away early in the second and held on for the win.

Scoring goals for the Vikings were Sara Young 3, Anna Frederick 2, Allie Yeager 2, Karalyn Joseph 2, Jordan Brown 1, Lexi Woodruff 1 and Kat Judge 1.

It was the Vikings' 63rd straight win over a Delaware school. Cape finishes the season with a 15-1 record, losing only to Queen Anne's (Md.) 11-9 earlier this month.

On May 10, Cape played the Hillers at home and won easily 13-5.
