Among the 14 restaurants that participated in Picnic in the Park was Striper Bites, with Brian Seglem opening oysters for the 800 people who attended.

About 800 people attended the annual Picnic in the Park June 2, sponsored by Friends of Lewes Canalfront Park, drawn to the warm and sunny weather. The fundraising goal was $10,000, with proceeds split between the vendors and the purchase of teak furniture for the overlook and free wifi for visitors of the park.
Main sponsors were Inn at Canal Square and Schell Brothers. Lewes Auto Mall sponsored the entertainment and LeeAnn Wilkinson Realtor sponsored the kids games.
Participating restaurants were Agave, Striper Bites, Jerry's Seafood, 2 Dips Ice Cream, Kindle, The Buttery, Irish Eyes, Cafe Azafran, Touch of Italy, Gilligan's, Rose & Crown, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Annabella's and R&L Wine & Spirits.
