Lightship Overfalls celebration over the top

June 9, 2013

Many thanks to all who joined in making the 14th annual opening party for the Lightship Overfalls a great success! We had the highest attendance ever to help us celebrate the 75th birthday of Big Red in fine style. It was fun to see everyone participating in the party games, the wine grab, the live and silent auctions, and enjoying the delicious food and the lively music culminating with the appearance of “Elvis” (aka Bill Brittingham) singing “Happy Birthday”!

We are especially grateful to our primary sponsor, Community Bank Delaware, our other sponsors, advertisers, donors, committee members, helpers, hostesses, bartenders, auctioneer, and Jay Taylor, Lisa Doak, and the staff of the Virden Center for giving us smooth sailing all evening.

Most of all we thank our patrons for supporting the efforts of the Overfalls Foundation and hope you will come to tour the ship and participate in our other fun events at the ship this summer.
