Browseabout Books character events equal fun for families

Hosting six more characters this summer

Initiating the 2013 summer season with two appearances by Clifford the Big Red Dog, Browseabout Books established this year’s equation for upbeat events: Children plus their favorite book characters plus story time and creative crafts equals a summer full of fun for everyone involved.


Dozens of children gathered in Browseabout’s event room for the 9 a.m. appearances of Clifford on Saturday and Sunday over Memorial Day weekend.


After every child was greeted, storyteller Nichole Zechman read “Clifford’s Birthday Party” to members of a rapt audience, who were then invited to create a craft about Clifford.


Browseabout Books at 133 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach, will be hosting six more characters throughout the summer. All events start promptly at 9 a.m.: June 22-23, "Curious George;" July 6-7, "Ladybug Girl;" July 20-21, "Bad Kitty;" Aug. 3-4, "Llama Llama;" Aug. 17-18, "Pete the Cat;" and Aug. 31-Sept. 1, "Junie B. Jones."
