Cultured Pearl opens liquor store

June 13, 2013

The Cultured Pearl Restaurant and Sushi Bar held a grand opening for its new liquor store in The Shops in the Pearl Mall June 7, coinciding with the restaurant's 20th anniversary. The liquor store, formerly owned by Bin 66, changed its name to The Cultured Pearl Liquor Company and will expand its variety of craft beers and carry a full line of saké, along with a large selection of wine and spirits. Shop co-owner Robert Wood said it would be an “Everyman liquor store.” Tastings will be held every Friday from 5 until 8 p.m., featuring a different type of product at each tasting.

Shown being educated about saké in the wine cellar at the grand opening are (l-r) Danielle, Dan and Don Waldera, employee Martin Nedelcher and John Meade.
