Bethel UMC Pastor Duncan says goodbye

To assume position of superintendent of Salisbury District Office
June 13, 2013

The Rev. Fred Duncan, pastor of Bethel United Methodist Church, was honored June 9 for his five-and-a-half years at the pulpit of the Lewes church. Duncan will become the superintendent of the Salisbury District Office UMC.

The three morning services were combined into one service to recognize the event. Youth and Family Ministry Director Ray Davis gave the sermon based on Matthew 4:19, “Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men.”

Following the ceremony, a buffet lunch was served to the entire church with special recognition from community leaders honoring Duncan’s service to the community.

Shown in front of the congregation, Lay Leader Phil Fields, left, says a few words for the Rev. Duncan and his wife Pat.
